Jeffrey was worried. Poor Derek didn’t look well and to bespelled like that, he feared this was something Derek would never recover from. He had to tell William as soon as possible. He would do that first before he spoke to the Oracle and other Regents. He hurried to his brother’s suite, quickly knocking on the door and entering before he even heard his brother say “Enter.”

“William,” he said, rushing into his room and noticing him sitting in his usual chair.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” William asked, sitting up straighter in his chair.

“Someone managed to get into the palace and bespell Derek. The Travellian brothers, along with their friends, had to spell cast to remove it from him. Derek is still unconscious in Darius’s suite,” Jeffrey told him, sitting down in the chair across from him.

“Poor, Derek. Has the doctor seen him yet?” the king asked.

“Yes, Dr Semmence was with him when I saw him. I fear what Derek will be like when he awakens,” Jeffrey said.

“Me too. He will need a lot of love and support, which I fear I’ll not be around to help with,” the king said sadly.

“And he will have it, from me and the Travellian’s unless I am mistaken, and don’t forget Adam.”

The king nodded. “The palace needs protection spells round it. I fear the ones already up are now outdated.”

“I will get onto that once I leave here. I just felt that you should know what was happening,” Jeffrey told him.

“Thank you, brother. Now go and do what you need to and keep me informed,” William said to him.

“Will do,” Jeffrey said standing up and with that Jeffrey was gone.

William sat there for a moment. He wanted to check on Derek, but knew if he tried to walk there, the well-meaning pesky guards would simply stop him, and escort him back to his suite. He stood up, pulled on the magic of the Paranormal High King and vanished, reappearing outside of Darius’ suite.

One of the palace guards standing not far from the king rooms felt a shift in the air. Confused he walked to the king’s door and knocked, not receiving an answer he opened the door and went in, looking around. The king was gone, grabbing his phone he made a call.
